The engine is making a ticking sound. The sound is constantly the same wether car is moving or not.

You dont say what engine in car . Could be a hydraulic tappet .

without knowing what engine is fitted makes it difficult to offer advise if it has the 8 valve engine they suffered from camshaft wear checked by removing cam cover to check for wear if 16 valve engine you could try oil and filter change and add a valve lifter treatment wynns do one or forte this will not help on 8 valve engine if cam is worn
