Vauxhall Astra no revs

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: Astravan 1.7CDTi
Model Year: 2008
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi, i have an astravan 1.7CDTI (reg FD08 AMU). It was running fine until the other day when i started it put my foot down and nothing happened.
it ticks over fine but absolutely no throttle. I took the battery out over night and it started and reved then when i turned it off and on again it died again.
From looking on forums it seems that problems with the ecu/edu can cause similar problems. If anyone knows about this and knows where i can find the ecu on my van id be very grateful as im currently stuck in the middle of france for the next few weeks with a van that wont go anywhere!

cheers

The e.d.u. Unit is mounted at the rear of the engine about halfway up ,There is a soldered pin inside this unit that's prone to failing.you could try cleaning and greasing the connector to this unit first of all as I have had one with the same issue with water in this multiplug. If you are tackling the solder repair be aware you have to be very accurate with your soldering onto the circuit board.Basically all your fuel pump signals run through this unit and throttle is one of them,It,s a simple repair as long as your soldering skills are good, hope this helps.
