Vauxhall Astra camshaft ?

hi, hearing a knocking sound from bottom end of engine,garage says could be camshaft problem,they have booked it in for me and say they will give it a oil flush,whatever that means,can someone explain please and tell me any other poss problem,it drives fine but they have told me not to drive it unless urgent to do so...thanks...

Camshaft is on top of the engine. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but almost certain it is overhead camshaft...

hi thanks witty, ive been using the car and its been tempermental,sometimes i hear it and sometimes i dont...what could it be....
