Vauxhall Astra radiator blows cold air since accident repairs

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: 1.4 sxi hatch
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Leaks & Noises
I recently had a bump & since car was repaired its blowing cold air & a noise like fan cooling kicks in, Its not normal for the fan to do this and I've been the only owner - the repairers can't see anything wrong & this is 2nd trip to garage. It was topped up with water last time & worked again for a couple of days, the mechanic said he can't trace any leaks from outside or into the engine..
Does anyone know what this may be.. I've not got a clue about cars (female) this has only been happening since accident about 5-6wks ago..
The bump I had was at the very front..

You may have an air lock in the cooling system. When engine is cold, take the water filler cap off and start engine and let it warm up. Just before it gets to normal running temp, top up the level as necessary and replace the water filler cap. Forgot to mention, make sure that your heater temp control is turned onto hot while the engine is warming up. Should cure your problem...

Thanks for replying. Don't think I mentioned on original post that when I took car back to repairers about radiator they did say that I had an oil leak & i had this repaired (sump) they advised this was nothing to do with accident so i paid.

I was filling water level as it was empty & out of curiosity I pulled dip stick out - it does'nt look like oil it's a creamy colour & over the level.. I'm now really worried & haven't used car since last post.
My question is - can water some how get into oil, then again the repairer would surely have noticed this.. Do you have any advise on this?

If oil is a creamy color, then the head gasket has gone. Oil and water can mix when this happens...

Thanks - would this not have been recognised when oil repairs where being carried out?

Also, should a warning light not appear or is it still drivable?

Your best bet is to take the car to the dealers and let them check it out, they should be able to tell you if the problem could have been caused by the accident, if so get back to the repairers.
