Vauxhall Astra doors open/luggage compartment light

Car: Vauxhall Astra
Variant: Astra Breeze 1.6
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I have an illuminated wee sign on dash for the above which will not go off when I am driving car. It disappears when lock car but not when driving, also means the interior lights are on constantly as well. I have pulled the fuse for the interior lights to allow me to drive but the door one still there. All doors are opening and shutting correctly and nothing stuck. Can anyone advise if this may be a sensor problem etc as I am at a total loss and nothing in the Haynes Manual either. Car due MOT in few weeks and already spent small fortune on repairs etc, so am hoping this not a major problem to solve.

check that the door switches are not shorting on the chassis. its usually fixed on with a screw and has spade type connectors behind it.

The tailgate-open sensor is built-into the lock assembly as are most of the doors open sensors also , nowadays .Double check boot shut o.k .You may have to eliminate each door / boot lock one by one to find fault .
