Vauxhall Astra help !!!! oil pressure light comes on sometimes

Check for lose connectio on oil pressure switch but it sounds like you oil pump is going down. I would check this out by putting a pressure guage into the switch port and see what it reads against figures in your manual.

I think before I'd price a pump/fitting I'd have the sump off,there''s a wire mesh strainer on the end of the oil pick up pipe and I've seen these so choked you cant see the mesh!!

i thought that about the mesh but i was hoping the engine flush would of sorted that out?do you think it might not of cleared it if it is blocked?

prone for oil pickup pipe fracturing on mounting so it is only getting oil from part way up the pie and not the strainer so when you go round a corner it starves of oil for a moment.after you have straightend up does the warning light go out again ?

My opels oil light stays on after we replaced the oil pump cleaned the mesh at the bottom of the oil pick up. What else can be wrong if the oil light stays on.

I have the same problem but my oil stays on and the lifters are making a terrible noise like it has no oil. Replaced oilpump and cleared mesh on oil pick upbut it still doing the same thing what can we do next?
