Vauxhall Astra heated rear window, air con and sport mode not working

all of the above stopped working when i tried to get the cigarette lighter working, a black wire near the lighter was live, so i linked it in. It then lost it's "live" and the Heated rear window, air con and sport mode stopped working. The light is "on" for the heated rear window and when the switch is depressed for the air con the light comes on but the compressor does not come in, the sport mode button light does not come on and sport mode is inactive.
