Vauxhall Antara noise from engine when switching off

Car: Vauxhall Antara
Variant: CDTI
Model Year: 2013
Categories: Engine & DrivetrainRunning Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When I switch off the engine it makes a continuous noise for a few mins. How can I solve it ? I’ve had a forced regeneration at the garage & put it diesel cleanser but can’t get rid of the noise

If it's the engine fan running , it can be caused if the car is used for short journeys and needs a good run down the motorway every so often to clear out the cobwebs .But double check your coolant level also .

Hi it is the engine fan that’s running. Gave it a good blast on sat last week so will double check the coolant level. Thank you. Wish I had been told about this before I bought it

I'm not a fan of diesel cars also , never have been .Not suitable for all and can be problematic .
