Vauxhall Agila when pushing throttle smoke coming from exhaust and smells of oil!!

when driving the oil light remains on, and when i go to push the throttle to gain speed it can only be described as a smoke screen! from the exhaust!!!! i take it the two probs must be linked???? any help would be great????? thanks, Dave

Maybe too much oil in engine.

check your oil level when car is cold you have 2 marks if your over the second mark you have way to much in other than that piston rings are gone

Going by your previous post where oil level was o.k , sounds like engine knackered .You could have worn pistons ,rings, bearings etc.causing lack of oil pressure , hence oil light on .Could check engine breathing o.k and no build up of crankcase pressure but sounds omninous.Valve stem oil seals can also cause the smoke , but with your other symptons , not hopeful .Best of luck .
