Affected vehicles may have an engine that was incorrectly assembled due to improper setting of the high-pressure fuel pump and/or improper setting of the timing belt.
When the data is read out from the vehicle ecu an incorrect iupr (in-use performance ratio) value is shown. this does not comply with regulations however there is no impact on safety or vehicles' exhaust emissions
On affected vehicles due to an error in the software calibrations of the engine control unit the malfunction indicator light (mil) will not illuminate when the urea injection system (which is part of the exhaust after treatment system) shuts down due to a fault resulting in non-compliance with regulations.
