Toyota Hilux engine not starting

engine is just cranking with no sign of starting, and ends up draining the battery, but when it does start after a long time of cranking then it starts alright from there onwards

If not been done for a while , changing the fuel filter wouldn't go wrong .Like this ,

Sound like a leak in the fuel system letting in air so when you trying to start what your actually doing is just "priming" the fuel lines with fuel until it does start.
Then overnight air replaces fuel in the lines and your back to square one.
A decent diesel tech can VAC test the supply lines/filter housing and find the leak.
