Toyota Hilux intermittent white smoke

hi my son has a Toyota lucida runs great just had a new oil change (right oil ) oil filter fuel filter 'air filter 'every now and then it pours white smoke out of the back'put an additive in the tank with no help 'no water in the tank'head not gone'could it be the EGR valve ? an injector ? not burning oil 'no over heating 'some times its that bad you cant see the cars behind 'the smoke is white 'not black or grey 'pure white ? thanks

make sure it is not loosing any coolant as a leaking head gasket can cause white smoke check engine breather system is clean check for any damage to intercooler pipes an injector flow test will tell you if an injector is over fueling a cause of white smoke it might be a good idea due to the age of vehicle to have the injectors tested and cleaned

fault found 'it was a blocked catalytic converter 'car taken to the extra mile garage in widnes who spotted the problem straight away 'they took it of and blew it clear 'its now perfect 'son was made up 'it was totally clogged ???

no sorry was not the cat it was the EGR valve so had it blanked off now the car runs better 'no smoke and much much better on fuel. never ran so good 'has been great since the problem was put on here
