My wife's Vitara has recently developed a hot start problem. It starts perfectly cold and runs fine, if you stop the car, for petrol or something for a short stop it will not restart, just turns over and occasionally may fire then back fire. If you leave it 10 or 15 mins it starts perfectly again.

Do you run the petrol down to almost empty everytime?

need more car details but if its a old shape 8v 1600 its likly to be a faulty single point injector very common fault for the early shape 1 hrs labour about £80 parts
