Ssangyong Korando 4x4 engagement

The change from 2 wheel drive to 4 wheel is not working. The light indicators stay on for both 4x4 light and hard but car remains 2 wheel drive.

Common cause is usually the vacuum hoses /pipes or the vacuum solenoid which on some is located in the engine compartment just under the battery tray.

All vacuum hoses/pipes and the vacuum solenoid checked and in good condition. The motor works when direct current is applied but it does not respond to the commands by the switch.
Any other suggestions from your experience?

Faulty switch ? Unfortunately I dont have a fuse box diagram for that year to check out any relevant fuses
