Skoda Superb engine temperature goes very high after start up

Car: Skoda Superb
Variant: TDI
Model Year: 2017
Categories: Engine & Drivetrain
The temperature gauge on my Skoda creeps up very high after a cold start up, to the point I need to pull over and let it idle for a while. It then suddenly cools quickly to a normal temperature and will stay like that for the remainder of the day, even after being switched off for a while.

May be a sticking thermostat . A lot of cars run a bit high initially before thermostat opens and / or coolant fan ( if needed ) cuts in .But quite normal nowadays .
