Skoda Octavia not starting

hi the problem is my skoda octiva 1.9 sdi will not turn over when i put key in and turn to start engine there is nothing i could try a few times and it would be the same but then it would start straight away. it was just service. any ideas how to help plz

It sounds to me like you have a faulty contact on your ignition switch. This contact is not making on every occasion that you turn the key and that could be why you get the intermittent starting situation. I would think an Auto Electrician would be worh a visit.

Was there any work done in the Steering Column area as part of your recent service. If yes then revert to whoever serviced the car for you.

Check connections / wiring at starter motor .Also check battery / body earths .
