Skoda Octavia fan keeps coming on when engine is switched off.

Car: Skoda Octavia
Variant: 2.0 tfsi
Model Year: 2006

My battery died which I thought I'd left a light on but after trying to charge the battery the fan keeps kicking in for 10 seconds then off again constantly, now im I thinking this may be what drained my battery. Has anyone ever had this issue?

You can get the fan running after switching off if it is the DPF regenerating , especially if only been doing short journeys . Often a decent run can clear it .
