Skoda Octavia electrics going haywire

Car: Skoda Octavia
Variant: 1.9
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
It started with all 4 windows going up and down while driving. I changed the battery but no change. Then I could not close windows whilst driving - hardly the weather for this! A local auto electrician has looked at this and said that water had got into the central control unit and this has now dried out but central locking no longer works. I then found all 4 windows had opened overnight and the only way I could get them up was to lock myself in the car and shut them with individual window controls. I turned ignition off removed key and radio continued to play. The radio stops when I undo the car lock manually! Its like having a poltergeist in the car playing with all the controls. Any ideas anyone?

Check for broken wiring where it passes into door from door pillar , through rubber boot .If not that may have to get it scanned with VAGcom and check the fault codes .
