Skoda Karoq dashcam exhausting battery

Car: Skoda Karoq
Variant: 1.5 SEL
Model Year: 2020
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
I installed a Nextbase 422gw dashcam and connected it to the cigar lighter as recommended. After a couple of days standing the car battery was so flat it had to be charged to start the engine.
I realised that the socket remained live at all times and purchased a hard wire kit. This was connected by a qualified mechanic to fuse no 53 asdvised by Nextbase. The battery again was nearly exhausted after the car was unused for a few days.
The power to fuse no 53 (rear window heater) does not switch off when the key is removed. We have tried a diferent non battery fed fuse, heated seat, still the camera remains live.
What is going on?

Does your dash cam not have it's own battery like most do and and that is why it is still showing live when you are checking ? If your battery is a MOLL battery , I'm almost sure there is a fault with them and are being replaced FOC because of battery drain .Worth checking with dealership .
