Have a Mk3 Fabia with a similar problem as below however car is running vell on all cylinders, no misfiring & acceleration is as normal & everything else is working as normal except for the stop/start notification on dash is not showing as to whether stop/start is active or not
Looking at "car" info on screen all it says is "stop/start" activated which it aint
Before I go to local dealer & no doubt be charged a fortune for diagnostic read out has anyone had a similar problem & is it an easy cheap fix---blown fuse or similar Any info will be much appreciated

Stop start will not operate if battery condition / voltage is low .Get battery LOAD tested , check voltage after lying overnight prior to starting . May need charging or replaced , especially if original .

Many thanks for info will do as you suggest, however I heard a rumour sometime ago that the start/stop system used a separate battery, independent of main battery to operate it, any info you may have on this will be much appreciated
Thanks

Unless you have an EV .In an EV, the 12-volt battery serves several important functions. It powers the vehicle’s electrical systems when the car is not in use including the central locking system, alarm, and other security features. The 12-volt battery also powers the vehicle’s onboard computer and diagnostic systems. It also plays a role in starting the main high-voltage battery pack, which is responsible for powering the electric motor and moving the vehicle.
Another important function of the 12-volt battery is to act as a buffer for the main high-voltage battery pack and to ensure a steady supply of electricity to the vehicle’s electrical systems.
Rumours..............................................lol

IF you need a new battery , make sure it is a stop / start type . Cars with stop / start have a heavy duty battery and starter as opposed to cars without due to the repeated usage
