Skoda Fabia speedometer sticking

the speedo in my skoda frequently gets stuck at about 50 mph when I am slowing down and this can be a problem through built up areas. Anyone else have this issue? Car quite a few years old now but didn't expect this vital piece of kit to ,misbehave. It got through MOT no problem though!

Probably faulty speed sensor .
