Seat Ibiza inner handles plastic trim coating coming off

Car: Seat Ibiza
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I'm posting both the problem and the solution:

Most older model VAG cars have this problem, The coating on the inner plastic trim starts to come off after a few years.

The solution is to gently take out the trim (be careful not to brake the latches, though it's rather simple to superglue any broken latches back on), remove all the leftover filthy coating with weak acetone (takes about 2 minutes per plastic piece), rinse well and spray with matte black spray (no need for anything fancy and expensive, the cheapest cans of spray produce the same shade as the original coating).
Assemble the trim back on the door and drive safely.
