when trying to start the ignition barrel just turning round with no clicks, therefore no power. Bumped started the car cos thought it was battery, but when removed key from ignition, engine was still running so had to stall car to cut out engine.

Renew the ignition switch,
and by that I mean the switch not the barrel where the key goes in,
the switch fits on the end of the barrel.
