Seat Ibiza turning over but not firing

Car: Seat Ibiza
Variant: 2.0 gti
Model Year: 1997
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Was running fine, then parked it up went out to it the next day and wouldn't start. Turning over and can hear the fuel pump starting, we have changed the spark plugs and fully charged the battery but still not firing! Any ideas on what to do next would be appreciated.

Get someone to spin it over while you look into the oil filler hole to see if you can see a cam spinning over if it doesn't the belts gone,if it does then you need to know if it's sparking and the injector/s are firing,if neither then suspect the CAS (crank angle sensor)

This might seem like a silly questoin but it happened to a friend of mine recently. Is it parked on a slope and is there enough Fuel in the Tank. The low Fuel light was not showing in my friend's Mondeo recently, he had left it parked on a slight slope outside his house and it behaved as your's is doing.
He was told to put a Gallon of Petrol into it just in-case and hey presto it started.
