Saab 900 engine taking too long to warm up in winter

Car: Saab 900
Variant: 2.3 XS Auto
Model Year: 1997
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
and check engine light stays on forever!

Takes up 20-30 minutes to warm up.
check gearbox light comes on and I am unable to drive till it goes off.
If I drive with the check gearbox light on them it is a sluggish drive.

I noticed when the tank is full it is less of a problem but it gets worst as the full starts lowering.

This problem only occurs on very cold days.

Looks like you have a few possible causes . Engine taking too long to heat up could be thermostat .Transmission could be needing ATF changed .May need new fuel filter . Could change engine oil and filter also if car has not been serviced for a while .
