just got new cilinder head fitted two week ago .
but car not the same got a ratteling sound plus the engin simb on the dash has just come on and the car cut out got it started again and it is very sluggish can eny one help

my i ask if its the vvt (variable valve timing)model.and did a garage or was it a diy repair?thanks

When my head gasket went on my 75 1.8 club se. I experienced the same problem like you have ie loss of performance. After spending weeks and lots of money on the problem with identifying the cause of the problem. It turned out to be a loosely fitting air hose which was removed to repair the original job.
