Rover 75 when driving car seems to lose power

when driving my car it starts to lose power and starts smelling what could it be

Anything it could be ,but if it,s smelling of fuel or rotten egg,s it,s possibly a catalyst fault.I would start with getting it checked for fault codes.

Sounds like you may have a slipping clutch ?
