Try a jump start , noise could be from starter if battery flat .

We had a similar problem with our 2005 Rover 45 when turning the ignition key there was an alarm bleeping sound and engine wouldnt turn over, turned out the remote/immobiliser fob was too far from the ignition key.Simple solution put fob on same ring as ignition key,worked for us hope this helps.
