I thought it was my reverse sensors, but they working fine, then I thought it was my car reverse sensors, also working fine.
A friend of mine said it could be the gear box, and only happens when I put car into reverse.
Anyone have any ideas.
Cheers

If everything o.k with gearbox apart from "humming noise " in reverse , I honestly wouldn't bother with it .It's a 15 yr old car . For all the time / distance you are in reverse , I would forget about it .You could check gearbox oil level , but again should affect all gears .Is this a noise that has just started ? or was it always there and you've just noticed it ? You can also get additives to add to oil which they claim quietens g/box .

Hi Legend.
Thanks for information. My car is on a 54 plate, just worried about this humming noise. Might take it to a garage, but some garages can be a rip off.
Cheerr for info
