Rover 45 fuel smell after filling up and juddering

hi when i put petrol in the rover when i start her up theres a petrol smell coming from the front and she judders also if i accelerate fast she judders ive changed the fuel filter and the spark plugs im at a loss what to try next please help many thanks

ps the petrol smell only lasts for 30 seconds

With the petrol smell it's a case of checking for any sign of leaks . As for juddering , could be because of misfire , engine/ gearbox mountings or clutch itself . Without road testing car , hard to say . If caused by misfire , and you've already replaced plugs , could be an ignition / plug lead breaking down under load . Could also check air filter condition and any breather hoses .
