Rover 45 cuts out when warm

my rover 45 starts great when cold but when the engine is warm it cuts out and backfires , you have to keep it revved or it just cuts out . leave it while it is cold and runs fine ive changed the coil pack and put a new petrol filter on but no difference has anyone any ideas thanks in advance

could be a fault with the coolant temp sensor or th air mass meter.
