Rover 400 non starter

was given this rover of a friend which ran perfectly,until her son took stereo out and messed around with it,unsure what he touched!! now it wont start at all tis dead,have tryed over riding imobilizer with key action as in handbook,am getting no spark at plugs at all turns over fine,alarm seems to disable fine?? we are at a loss please help

darren do you have a mulitimeter ? if so check the positive side of the coil with the ignition turned on, you should be reading batt voltage (12v) or slightly above. if not the imobiliser may well be active.

other things to check are the distributor cap carbon brush to ensure its not burnt a way (common) rotor arm for tracking to earth (again common).
Obvious but sometimes over looked check the fuse box for blown fuses.

Prob blown a fuse somewhere try and check them all, There is an ecu fuse on these.
