Rover 25 brakes making ping noise

Car: Rover 25
Model Year: 2000
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I have a rover 25, it has been sitting and covered for 6 months. when I brought it the brakes had been overhauled and a new mot. I'm due to sell it now (was for the wife) I took it for a drive and when braking at low speeds ie: less then 10mph there is a loud pinging noise and you can feel it on the brake pedal.
Any ideas before I take to garage. It didn't do before when I brought it...
Thx in advance any help would be useful...

The car lying for that length of time can cause light rust and sticking of pads . shoes etc. Most times a decent run with car and braking normally tends to clear most faults .
