Rover 25 boot open light on

Can you please advise where the sensor is for my boot open light. The light wont go off and the light inside my boot wont go off either. Can you please advise how i can fix this? and if i dont get this fixed soon will this drain my battery?

Might be wrong , but think it's part of boot latch / lock . Could check wiring connections on lock behind trim ,sometimes corrosion / grime can be cause of not operating .

might be worth checking th wiring loom in the small rubber tube that connects the boot and body wiring the wires can get damaged as the boot lifts up and down(drivers side tube)
