Rover 200 internal light does not come on

Car: Rover 200
Variant: 1.4
Model Year: 1999
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
hi i have just bought an old rover 200 1.4 1999 it has 12 months mot
however the lighter does not work on it not all of the time lights up on the clock and the light does not come on when u get in the car however it does work if u do it manually.
bigger worry is that the overheating gauge sits central between hot and cold and does not move either way from there is this where it is meant to be as on my other car it has always stayed on the cold
many thanks

When the car is at working temp it should sit in the middle as you say it is .

Check fuses for your lighter .

Agree that temp. Is normal for this car model, and by lighter do you mean the power part ,as if this is inop.it will be the fuse or the actual pop out lighter which will be that part you need to clean or replace.

You might need a new element for your cig lighter . On some it just screws off .You shouldn't be smoking anyway , bad for your health !!!
