Renault Scenic check esp & orange spanner light up

Car: Renault Scenic
Variant: 1.6 16v
Model Year: 2010

after driving for approx 1 mile the Check esp & orange spanner light up only to go off shortly later. On checking diagnostics it shows a steering angle sensor problem. I have replaced the sensor calibrated if but the problem remains. The handling of the car does not to seem to be effected .

If new sensor , fitted correctly and calibrated , no idea why code hasn't cleared . Have heard of something similar before from another garage owner friend who had this problem a few years back and his was caused by a low battery . Cant remember if alternator charging rate also was faulty at the same time .

Hi Thanks for prompt reply.
Car has a new battery because I had read that battery could cause various problems. charge rate is normal. I can clear code using an Icarsoft FR v2.0 which was also used to calibrate sensor to 0 with wheels straight ahead. When in fault condition steering angle sensor shows approx 360 degrees . Sensor degrees change when looking at data stream while turning steering wheel going higher when turning one way and lower the other way
