Renault Scenic check emissions warning

06 scenic, juddering as you go through the gears, then a smell of burning, stopped car to check, noticed exhaust was really hot, start to drive off again, engine management symbol and check emissions message came on. Any ideas???

The smell of burning and the exhaust temp is usually the DPF regeneration . If you do short trips you MIGHT get away with giving car a hard drive on motorway for a spell to generate heat and complete regeneration .Otherwise into garage .
