Renault Modus injection/emissions light
Variant: 1.2 16v
Model Year: 2004
While driving the power failled. It wouldn't do above 3000rpm in any gear or above 35/40 m/h.
Meanwhile the engine light is on and it says check injection/emissions. 5min. later goes back to driving normal. Emissions warning goes out 1 day later. This happen 2 times in 2 months. (I'm not driving much at the moment with covid19 - maybe 250 m p/month).
Would a product to clean injectors suffice? I can't go to the garage until it happens again and hope that it doesn't stop happening before I get there and the warnings go off . What would the reading be? Only bad emissions warning stays a bit longer. * Only51.400 miles driven this car.

I think the biggest problem is the lack of use and probably short / stop journeys . By doing so the engine rarely reaches working temp for any length of time . Normally I would suggest taking on motorway and driving for about at least 30/ 45 mins keeping in 4th gear rather than using 5th to keep revs up and blast the cobwebs from the engine / exhaust . But with Covid restrictions and engine dropping power you may be reluctant to do so

Thank you for your response. I thought that my low rev driving style could be a cause. I've been keeping the 4th more often. This car accepts really low rev without sounding needy plus it has very low milage all in all reason for being a bit clogged up.
I'll go for a long drive asap. Do you think I should try one of those cleaning products as well (fuel and injector systems)?? Thanks.

You could try the additive if you wish , shouldn't do any harm .
