Renault Laguna loud knocking noise coming from font left wheel

Car: Renault Laguna
Variant: 1.9 DCI
Model Year: 2003
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Hi all

Ok my Laguna has started to make a rather loud clicking/knocking noise in the front left wheel. When im traveling direct there is no sound from the wheel at all, if i turn the wheel left or right (especially right) then the noise starts to erupt. I cant feel any vibrations coming through the wheel and the noise has started suddenly.

I use to own a Pug 206 and at first i thought it may have been the drive shaft, but with experience from my pug the drive shaft takes time for the knocking noise to get that loud.

Please can you help me!

I agree with you, unless something has collapsed inside the joint.

Sounds like knackered c/v joint .

C/V joint you say! What would cause this to break? Apart from wear and tear.

Usually its just wear and tear but check to see if the cv boot/gaiter is damaged because if so the grease would come out and dirt could get in making it wear out quickly. Potholes could damage it too

How many miles do you think i can get out of the joint before cause further damage to the drive shaft?
