Renault Laguna rattling when keycard removed

Car: Renault Laguna
Variant: 1.9 DCi
Model Year: 2006
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
Hi
I have a 1.9CDi trubo, recently when I take out the keycard there's a rattling noise coming from the engine area. This happens even if I just put in the keycard and remove it, without the engine running. It sounds like a motor catching on something, any idea's would be appreciated. Due to a family bereavement I need to make sure it's all ok, easily and as cheap as I can. Everything runs fine, the car starts no problem, as I said it's just when I take out the key card.

Many thanks

get someone to put the keycard in and out whilst you listen under bonnet to pinpoint noise,it could be a relay or module powering up

Hi

Not sure how to describe it, I took off the plastic engine cover and it seems to be some sort of inlet at the top where the rattle comes from. If this doesn't help then I'll leave it and hope it can last for a couple of weeks when I'll be able to get it in a garage.

I did take it to a garage before Christmas, but just for a service as I needed it desperately I told them not to sort that out just yet. They thought it might be to do with the heating (but it was only a "double click" noise rather than a rattle)

Thanks for the reply anyway.
