Renault Laguna abs ecu fault

Car: Renault Laguna
Variant: 1.8 Dynamique
Model Year: 2001
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
My ABS problem has been diagnosed to the main inlet outlet valve on the ABS due to the fault code stored, which I am told is caused by the abs module probably being at fault. A new unit (I believe the ecu is complete with pump as one unit) puts the car beyond economical repair really (there is a fault with the main ecu too) I was wandering if there is any problems with puting a secondhand unit on? For example are they coded to the car or anything like that, or can it be a straight swap? Many thanks

i believe that the ABS units are plug and play providing you match the part numbers... but there is a company called BBA Reman these guys fix these types of problems and reasonably priced... look them up on the net and give them a call first!!!
