Renault Laguna intermittent windscreen wiper fault.

Hi All,
I have an intermittent windscreen wiper fault with my 2002 Renault Laguna II Privilege.
The wipers work fine, until it rains. They continue to work for a few minutes, before parking themselves and stopping completely.
At this point, none of the stalk positions for the wipers work at all, but I CAN hear the relay clicking.
Once the rain has subsided, and about an hour has passed, the wipers start working normally again.
The rear wiper is unaffected, and continues to work perfectly the entire time.
Is anyone able to shed some light on the likely cause and solution?

Renault Laguna wiper problem

I identified the wiper relay by feeling for the click when the wipers were on medium setting. I pulled it out and had a look at the board, it seemed ok, no scorches etc. I put it back and hey presto! Must have been a dodgy connection or something.
My hands are in bit of a state, Renault didnt make them easy to get to!
and another suggestion
You are all wrong Ive just found the answer so listen carefully! This fault lies at the rear of the wiper motor it involves removing the wiper motor. Carefully lever off the plastic wheel box cover clips at rear of wiper motor
and you will see three copper sprung contacts these copper strips need to bent slightly to improve their contact with the park contacts on the wheel.
Reassemble and Bobs your uncle.
