Renault Laguna key card fault

My 55 plate laguna had 2 credit card type key fobs when i got it , after a while one packed up working so i have been using the second one, now this one is playing up and will not unlock the car unless you are right next to it and then only sometimes. I have replaced the battery. Is there a easy fix or do i have to buy new key fobbs,also in the key fobb there is a key but i cannot find where to put this to unlock the car, can you advise . Dave

on the drivers or passenger door where the handle is there is usually a piece of trim that can be removed to gain access to a key barrell,you will have to check your car,with regards to the key/remote not working if you have replaced the battery then you really need to get it checked out by a renault specialist

You can also get problems with dirt / dust in card reader .If you go here , it shows you how to check / rectify this fault .

Should have mentioned the card reader fault won't affect your fault with central locking , but other symptoms .

Google it.You will find a guy in South Wales will fix them 1 at a time for £25,
