Renault Laguna wont start

Car: Renault Laguna
Variant: 2.0
Model Year: 1997
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
After a mistake of washing the Car Keys with my trousers, the car wont start, could this be to do with the immobiliser and the Key? And can it be re-booted? unfortunately only have the 1 key for the car.

take all the info you have on the car ie paperwork and mot that sort of thing and go to the dealers and they will be able to reprogramme the key for you but give them a ring first just to be sure you get and take the right info with you

it maybe worth openning the key up and removing the battery [look which way it goes ] and leaving in warm place overnight to dry out put it together and give it a try you never know your luck

hi does the key still blink when you press it.......if so try this put the key in the ignition and turn the key till the lights come on and hold down the door lock butt by the hand brake and press the fob on the key at the same time for about 10 sec`s...worked for me

The fob just opens the locks nothing else. There is a chip inside the key that, you can't miss it, it's not on the circuit board, but to the side. It's the thing that allows the ignition to work, get that checked, see if water has got into it.
