Don't know if this might help ,
Renault Laguna II - Dashboard diagnostic
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi,
Not sure if this has been reported before, but I have found a way to test the functions of the Laguna dashboard.
Hold down the computer display change button (ADAC?), on the right steering stalk and then insert the keycard.
This will make all of the characters on the LCD display come on as well as cycle all of the gauges from min to max. This I imagine will show whether the gauge is dead, or the sender.
If the button is pressed repeatedly the LCD steps through a bunch of diagnostics, (mine showed I had a charging problem). I will list as much info on these displays that I can check out should it be of interest. So far this is what I think happens.....
1. All LCD characters are displayed. All gauges step up/down. Warning lights all on.
2. Fuel remaining in tank? (appears to be in litres even though its a UK car!)
3. This shows '0.0' until the car is started then a number shows that varies with throttle (Fuel flow?)
4. Fault codes. This is a four digit/letter? code. Mine showed an 'h' in the last position (_ _ _ h) and a charging fault alarm on the graphics display (in red). The digit code can be reset by pressing the Odo' reset button, the graphics display stays put though.
Once the errors are cleared, or if there were no stored faults the display just shows four dashes, ie. _ _ _ _
The displays continuously cycle around these functions as the button is pressed.
Removing the keycard or pressing the reset clears the displays back to normal.
Even if its of no real use, watching the gauges 'dance' can keep the kids amused for hours
PLEASE NOTE I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THIS WILL STUFF ANYTHING LONGTERM...
PLEASE USE WITH CAUTION.....
I'VE USED THIS 'HACK' OVER A DOZEN TIMES OVER THE WEEKEND SINCE I FOUND IT AND IT ALWAYS RESETS OK..... BUT YOU NEVER CAN TELL....... I WILL CHAT WITH A TAME RENAULT MECHANIC THAT I KNOW ASAP...
