Renault Laguna revs dropping and engine stalls

Car: Renault Laguna
Variant: 1.9 Diesel
Model Year: 2004
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
When slowing down, the engine revs often drop down to about 600, which causes the car to stall. I have tried 2 garages and neither of them can give me a fix. In "older" cars it would be the timing, but I guess it is not as easy as that these days?

Yep not so easy on these modern cars. Try contacting a Renault specialist from this website and see if they can help. Usually half the price of dealers and have most kit thats needed to diagnose small problems. I know of one near Andover if you live near there?

Did you get a solution to this?
My car is exactly the same and renault can't seem to diagnose the problem.
Its dangerous when I cut out in the middle of a roundabout at 40mph and the power steering locks!

No, I have not got a solution, a dealer persuaded me to have the engine flushed during a service, but that made no difference.

Had a similar problem just recently that cured its self, possibly water ingress to the ECU or its harness
