Renault Kangoo renault kangoo sparks on cold morning

Car: Renault Kangoo
Variant: 1.5 CDI
Model Year: 2007
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
2007 Renault Kangoo 1.5 CDI van

On cold mornings there are white sparks coming from below what appears to be the turbo and a smell of electric burning coming into the cab. There are also flickering warning stop and battery lights and crackling on the radio.

Only seems to happen on cold mornings. I was advised to replace the EGR valve which I did but I'm still having problems with sparks and burning smell on cold morning starts.

Can anyone please advise asap on what the problem could be?

Thanks.

Check all earth connections . especially any from engine to body .Also wiring / connections at starter and alternator .

I'd unhook the battery NOW!
Because no matter what it is if you can smell burning that's because something is ON FIRE!
Whatever it is you do not want to make it worse.
Then can in a mobile auto spark.
