Renault Kangoo fuel starvation

was driving along then engine stopped fuel was not getting from tank air got into system blew back into the tank form inlet at front buy fuel filter and primed the filter then it started drove home OK but what would have caused this to happen thanks pete

In the fuel cap on the tank, there should be a little ventilation hole built into the cap to allow the tank to breath, maybe this is blocked and causing a vacuum...

Some of the caps on that car ARE non vented , you will have to check .You must be drawing air into system , check all hoses/pipes for leaks .If not that , could be something floating loose in tank blocking fuel flow .
