n/s/r door not unlocking-intermttant fault ok for MOT-no visual corrosion to multiplug on C Piller-used contact spray but all good

With that year / age and Renault electrics it could be anything . lock actuator . linkage , lock assembly .

Best guess? I have an idea that before we bought it it RTA damage on n/s nothing serious as not logged

Another common fault on a lot of cars is damage to the wiring and making / braking where it passes through into the door ( usually in rubber sheath )
