2006 Renault Clio revs high then cuts out

Car: Renault Clio
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.2
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi everyone,

I drive a 2006 Renault Clio 1.2.
It's been giving me great service but over the last couple of months it has been acting up.

I would be driving doing my everyday thing when all of a sudden the car would give a slight jurk and loose power. I increase the throttle but that doesn't help. I would then pull over, put the car in nutral and it would rev -by itself- to avout 3000revs and stay there. I can step on the throttle, step on the clutch...nothing happens.
the moment I put it in gear, the car cuts out.

When you turn the ignition, the engine turns and it wants to take but just never does. I then just leave it for a while -10min or so- retry and most of the time it takes.

This happens every couple of months. Took it to Renault, and at great expense they replaced the throttle body but obviously it didn't help much since it happened again...

Any advice???

Sounds like the ecu needs to be reconfigured this should have been done when the throttle body was replaced but sometimes it is a step that is overlooked go back to the renault dealer and have them fix it via warranty. if they used the clip (Renault) diagnostic system this should not have occurred
